OWL's..
Cat amazingly lost .5 lb so I am almost back to where I should be, Tyler maintained... He says he blames Mom's cooking.. I don't know why my cooking doesn't get blamed for putting on the lbs like Mom's roast beef and double stuff potatoes but he blames her! :)... ( ok so maybe I do know why)
Poll Results...Not too shabby!
There were 8 votes total:
4 of you voted that Tammy and I would gain 0 lbs and possibly even lose more (very kind...but misguided. Yes even Tammy was one of you optimistic dreamers!)
2 votes for 1-3 lbs
2 votes for 4-7 lbs (one of those was me!)
and (thankfully) no one voted that we would gain more than 8 of the lbs back!
So what really happened... we gained 3 of the lbs back!
Tammy only gained 1 lb back (for a net of 4lbs loss since starting the kick start)
I gained 2lbs back (net of 6 lbs loss)
It actually was pretty good since both of us gained those pounds back the very next day so we really maintained the rest of the week!
Hopefully we will now not gain anymore back and will start losing again!
Uh Oh, GC talks have started again...better go and listen!

Time to Vote!
Just for fun, I added a poll to our blog (see Left side panel). We want to see how many pounds everyone thinks we will add back on this week? Hopefully it will motivate us to keep it off! Either way it will be fun.
So cast your vote before Sunday night!

Saunya and Roy
Saunya maintained and I have made it Roy's job to email me his results because he doesn't weight in until Monday morning.. So we will all have to weight(haha) for that update! (I would like to add Saunya's comment when she heard that Mark and Tammy had lost 13 lbs this week- "Did they eat anything this week!?!"... I would like to second that motion).. great job guys! keep it up.
6 out of 7 = 13!
So Tammy and I both started my "7 day kick start to a healthy diet" on Monday so we have only done 6 of the 7 days (today is the last day) but...
Tammy lost 5 lbs and I lost 8 for a combined 13 lbs this week!
I did not track Tammy's progress but here was how my week went:
Monday (veggie day): 2lbs ...and a bit grumpy.
Tuesday (another veggie day): 2 more lbs and quite grumpy indead!
Wednesday (ahhh finally some carbs and more protein): 1 lbs and feeling good.
Thursday (kicking in the exercise!): 1.5 lb and addicted to losing weight.
Friday (still feeling the burn!): I went to Mt Pleasant so I didn't track my weight Sat AM but I did enjoy my Chicken Salad from Wendy's.
Saturday (surprised at how quickly I feel full): 1.5 lbs for the total of 8 lbs!
Let me just say I am excited to have an unrestricted diet starting tomorrow! I do hope that I can keep my portion size and diet habits that I worked on this week.
We will see at next week's reporting if we can maintain the loss and continue to lose (for which purpose the kick start is intended) or if it will all just come back. Wish us luck!

Oklahoma..
I gained a lb this week and Tyler put on 2 lbs... its been a semi stressful week so we both ate out a few too many times and Tyler says he blames the Relief Society General Session for way to many slices of pizza with the boys last night. Cameron's birthday cake staring me in the face hasn't helped any. We will start a new and report weight loss next week. Wish us luck!

Life after almost death
After being sick and feeling like I was going to die I lost 4lbs. Now that I don't have a fever of 103 and I can eat againg I went back to 229lbs. Great to be alive though. Still excited I have finally broke the 230 mark. I've been there since I took over he A&W concept. Those burgers and rootbeer ice cream are pretty good not to mention the freshly made golden A&W Rootbeer. Hungry yet? Now you can see my problem. We just added origninal strips too. I am learning a lot of self control. I'm still 6lbs down for the record. Strips are pretty good as far as health food. Not as much breading and no skin. One of my favorite meals is crooked neck squash, red pepers, onions, jalepeno, tender roast breast, and a little butter substitute and pepper. I have really enjoyed all of this out of my garden. I also made salsa for the first time Sunday. It was pretty good for a first attempt. I kind of took a little bit from everybodies ideas and put something together. After I blended 10 small tomatoes and 5 jalepenos, from my garden, I was looking at Jackee's anunt's recepie. It said 40 tomatoes with 4 to 5 jalepenos seeded. Well, what was done was done, to little information to late. I didn't seed them either. I think I found a cure for the stuffy nose. Adam and I were the only brave souls to try it at my house so we took some to Mark's house for a second opinion. I think Mark is giving the receipe out to patients with stuffy noses now.
Write you later, just waiting for my raqetball partner. I think he went back to sleep. Mark are you there?

Wrights' "Tracking" Better
Okay, here goes, my second blog. I am going to get the hang of this and try harder to do it more often. I still LOVE reading all of YOURS, especially Mark's, with his "broken scales" and "less wear on the carpet"comments. Anyway, the last couple weeks have been busy, a little TOO busy, but I can't use that as an excuse since Roy still finds the time to exercise anyway. (However, 5:30 am is honestly just a little too early for me.) Last week my friend and I put up over 120 quarts of applesauce and still have apples coming out our ears. I wish I had a food drier. Roy and I have finally got the neighbors on board to build the fences (we almost have the posts in). That is some good exercise I must say. Between the 2-man post hole digger, our hand-held one, lifting, bending and moving all the posts, neither one of us could move much the next day. David had his birthday party on Friday night and his "Salmon" cake is gone finally. I am not much of a cake person (unless it's Mom's strawberry shortcake) but I agree with Mark, it's just nice not to have it around. I didn't get much "scheduled" exercise in but still lost a pound yeah! I think that was really due to the lack of time to actually sit down to eat. Whatever - it worked.
The really good news is our better "Tracking" now. Our scale was well, let's just say not that exact. Either that or the little lines on it by our feet were soooo small we had a hard time reading them. Anyway, we have been trying to find a better one at a garage sale or something but Roy actually found one in another city he was in at a GoodWill place. (Everybody probably knows that roaming these places is really what my husband LOVES to do while eating his lunch.) Anyway, at $9.99 it was like Christmas morning for both of us. The only down side is we had to rearrange the bathroom because it is a little large but who cares - it's GREAT! It's that dreaded tall scale you have to stand on at the doc's office that can check you height and weight right down to the quarter pound. The one that you have to move over the weights as you gain OR slide it back down as you lose - oh yeah - that's what were going for. We'll let you know - see you next week.

Starting fresh...
So I have maintained for the last 2 weeks, unfortunately the week my "scale broke" I had gained 4 lbs (the week Tammy's sister was here). So I finally just bit the bullet and took my 7lb weight loss down to 3 lbs and am starting fresh.
Tammy has done well and maintained despite my cravings for cholcolate chip cookies and such.
I am working on adapting some diets to create a "7 day kick start to a healthy diet". The goal is to use 1 week to change the way you eat - the when and the what! Almost anyone can stick with a diet for a week right??? Well, I guess we will see. If it works out I'll post it...and then make millions when I right a book about it...Ha Ha Ha.

California Update
I finally got some info from Teri & Ben... Ben has lost 12 lbs and Teri has lost 3 lbs! Woohoo!
I love to see the Temple...
Tammy and I were able to go to the temple last night and then dinner afterwards. Dinner was lots of fun and the temple was wonderful. It has been a while since we have gone and it was so nice to be back!
With the large dinner we had last night on our date (and the fact that our waiter gave us a complimentary chocolate cake to share that we couldn't even finish!), our scale still happens to be broken. ;)
On a positive "weighted" note:
I put on my temple pants and they were very loose! I was pleasantly surprised! I am actually thinking about having them altered...how exciting.

Saunya and Roy report
Saunya has maintained and Roy lost a pound.. woohooo!.. They say it was a hard week for working out.. getting locked out of their van and all... But now that all the kids are back to school they say it is coming off!
OWL's
So we both maintained!..(I actually think I lost because I actually weighed myself tonight instead of this morning.. but Tyler says that that is cheating.. So if I really lost it will show up next week too right?) Anyways, we had Kevin's birthday tonight and as an added bonus we took over half of the cake over to some friends house.. so that won't be such a temptation.. (besides Cameron has his birthday in two weeks.. we will have plenty more cake then) Happy birthday to all those September babies!.. (there are more than a few in this family) And good luck with the weight loss!
We All Need Strep
Well, it's time for my monthly report. I've decided strep throat isn't all that bad. Troy had it last week and lost 4 pounds which is almost as much as the 5.5 I lost the entire month. So now his total loss is 10 and mine is 13.
Broken Scale...sure that's it!
So Tammy and I had it coming this week. Her sister and aunt came to visit...which was really fun. But for 2 skinny ladies they sure do eat a lot of junk food. Tammy and I are good at not eating junk food...when there isn't any around to eat!
Needless to say we will not be reporting any losses this week! :( We will just pretend that the scale is broken!
However, this week there are no left over snacks haunting us in the dead of night. So by next Sunday I hope to be back on track!
